Hindus and Jews censure Miley Cyrus for not raising Gypsy apartheid issue on 'Gypsy Heart' tour

Hindus and Jews are critical of American singer-actress Miley Cyrus for not utilizing her current 'Gypsy Heart' tour to spread awareness about the apartheid faced by about 15-million European Gypsies (Roma), despite their prior appeal to her.

Esteemed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed and Rabbi Jonathan B. Freirich, prominent Jewish leader in Nevada and California in USA; in a statement issued in Nevada on Sunday, said that since Cyrus had stated that "Gypsy Heart is not just a tour for me, but a mission to spread love", it was a good opportunity to show her love for Gypsy brothers and sisters who were facing almost total societal exclusion and undeserved maltreatment in Europe.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, and Rabbi Freirich stressed that they were hopeful that Cyrus would not stay apathetic and silent spectator when fellow Gypsy brothers/sisters were facing blatant injustice and discrimination in Europe. But it seemed that Cyrus was just interested in using the Gypsy name for mercantile greed and did not feel the pain

European Gypsies were going through.
Rajan Zed and Jonathan Freirich argued that Cyrus would have been very effective in focusing public opinion world over on Gypsy apartheid. Many Hollywood and other entertainment bigwigs had successfully worked against South Africa's apartheid in the past. If Cyrus wanted their services in regard to Gypsy cause, they were willing to support her.

Alarming condition of Gypsies was a social blight for Europe and the rest of the world as they reportedly regularly faced social exclusion, racism, substandard education, hostility, joblessness, rampant illness, inadequate housing, lower life expectancy, unrest, living on desperate margins, language barriers, stereotypes, mistrust, rights violations, discrimination, marginalization, appalling living conditions, prejudice, human rights abuse, racist slogans on Internet, unusually high unemployment rates, etc., Zed and Rabbi Freirich pointed out.
Cyrus' "Gypsy Heart" tour, from April 29 to July two, takes her to Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Philippines, and Australia. The live show features music from Cyrus' latest solo album "Can't Be Tamed," and much more. She has already reportedly covered six countries.

Teen idol Golden Globe nominated Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), 18, ranked number 13 on Forbes' 2010 Celebrity 100. "Gypsy Heart" is her third concert tour but the first one to reach these territories.
